Hands up who has read the book?

One Day has become one of those modern writing phenomena’s where every person at the pool and on the tube has been reading a copy.

Pool sides this summer are likely to see yet another increase of people flicking through the 2009 novel as One Day: The Movie starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess hits cinemas this autumn.

The book, in case you are one of the few that has not read it focuses on the characters Em (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess.) After spending the night together on the night of their college graduation Dexter and Em are revisited each year on the same date to see where they are in their lives.

To celebrate the fact a new trailer has been released for the film we wanted to take a closer look at the dreamy Jim Sturgess.

At 32, Jim is slowly becoming one of the UK’s finest actors. Recent roles have included the lead voice in Legend of the Guardians, Ben in Vegas heist drama 21 and Boleyn brother in The Other Boleyn Girl.

Jim was tipped to be the new Spiderman in the re-born franchise however this went to other Brit up and comer Andrew Garfield (more on him later – watch this space) and his role model is the late but great River Phoenix.
